Delta Roofing sends LBP-licensed roofers to 89 Auckland suburbs. Roof repairs, replacement, painting and gutters - free quotes, 24-48hr response.
Every suburb page covers the housing, the roofs we typically work on there, local weather exposure and the questions homeowners in that area ask us most.
Auckland's roofs vary a lot from one side of the city to the other. A 1900s villa in Grey Lynn, a 1970s brick-and-tile home in Pakuranga and a new terraced townhouse in Hobsonville need very different work, and the weather they face is different too: salt spray on the east coast bays, heavier rain and bush shade out west, and tight inner-city sections where scaffold access takes planning.
Delta Roofing's LBP-licensed team works right across the region, so pick your suburb below to see what we usually find on roofs there and what to look out for on yours. If your suburb isn't listed, we almost certainly still cover it. Call us on 022 196 9021 or request a free written quote.
The inner isthmus has Auckland's oldest housing: villas and workers' cottages in Ponsonby, Grey Lynn and Mount Eden, interwar bungalows, post-war state houses through Mount Roskill and Panmure, and older industrial roofs around Penrose. Corrugated iron re-roofs, box gutters and tile restorations make up most of the work here.
From Devonport's villas to the 1960s and 70s homes of Glenfield, Birkdale and Beach Haven, the Shore mixes coastal exposure with bush-edged sections. Salt air, moss and leaf litter shape most of the roof problems we see across the harbour.
Much of East Auckland was built from the 1970s onward, so concrete tile and decramastic roofs that are due for restoration are common, alongside newer Flat Bush and Dannemora homes and the commercial roofs of East Tamaki. Coastal suburbs like Bucklands Beach and Half Moon Bay add salt to the mix.
The west gets more rain than the rest of the city, and the Waitakere foothills add bush, shade and steep sections. Expect everything from Titirangi's hillside homes to New Lynn's post-war houses and Hobsonville's newer builds.
Large areas of post-war and 1970s-80s housing in Mangere, Otara, Papatoetoe and Manurewa sit alongside the industrial estates of Wiri and Airport Oaks. Tile restorations, tile-to-metal re-roofs and commercial re-sheeting are the bulk of the work.
